The Miramar Cultural Center presents, until May 14, Camins d'Aigua. Painting and sculpture by Berta Paco Sánchez. The fierce radicality of his stroke is contrasted with a colorful and lucid relational poetics. Berta plastically interprets her rich inner world where the great existential questions appear. The common denominator in Berta's life was the social commitment of her Art and her search for waterways: exits to vital impasses derived from reflection and introspection. His works are abstract expressions of meditations, experiences and reflections that become poems of shapes and colors.
The Camins d'Aigua exhibition gives voice to the artist's proposal so that his messages burn in our bodies and penetrate our hearts, while circulating the style, moving between abstract gesturality and a figurative neoexpressionism. As Isidre Roset i Juan, curator of the exhibition, writes, "I met Berta in March 2012 at the Sitges Art Fair where she presented some of the works that we can now see at the Miramar Cultural Center, and I followed her progress at the exhibition she held, months later, at the Casino Societat de l'Amistat in Cadaqués. She is no longer here, but Berta, in her short and intense life, has left us an extensive work, of strong lyricism, which postulates the need for Art as the foundation of a renewed humanism."
Through her painting, Berta Paco Sánchez entrusts us with her deepest thoughts or conveys her happiness and pain. You only need to compare the paintings made during different periods to see this very personal evolution. From pictures of a special chromatic sensuality to others that transcend for their dark and tormented range. Painting allows him to express the ideas that his feeling towards life brings him. A feeling, through which, the metamorphosis of his life trajectory is made known in a sincere way.
