Pigment Gallery presents Ingravita, a proposal that starts from a process of research and introspection by the multidisciplinary artist Penélope Clot (Barcelona, 1975). The exhibition, which can be visited until April 16, reflects a world that swings between the macro and the micro. From the immeasurable immensity of the cosmos – which reveals itself to be magical and mysterious – to the imperceptible interior of the organism, a kind of initiatory journey where everything, the outside and the inside are intimately related. In previous works such as the Vínculos and Des-vínculos series, Clot explored, through a material proposal, the dermis as a border space.

Penélope Clot defines herself as self-taught by definition and conviction: “When something excites you, worries you and is the engine of your life, you can only constantly train. Research and experimentation are implicit in the word formation". Passionate artist, trained in various artistic disciplines. He finds his inspiration by spending much of his time outdoors, where he soaks up shapes, colors and textures. When you return to your studio, record these impressions. A meticulous, silent work, with superimposed layers of transparencies and harmonious glazes.

As Natàlia Chocarro writes, "With Ingravita - a title you determined yourself after realizing that this was precisely the feeling that best defined this last work -, you trace a journey to the origin, to the essence, to the core where life rushes and which finds its source of inspiration in femininity. And perhaps because of the sensuality that all these rounded shapes awaken in you, you feel the need to give them volume, to transform them into three-dimensional bodies, which awaken desire in us. Desire to hold and caress the ductility of a form that expresses all those others, such as the female reproductive system. With Ingravita you propose to look inward to connect with yourself and the universe, you concentrate and gather in a gesture that contains the beat of time and that has pushed you to (un)dress yourself to find other possible ways of grafting yourself into the world to inhabit it."
