"Landscape Viladot" at Casa de la Paula

From March 11 to May 31, you can visit the temporary exhibition Paisatge Viladot at the Casa de la Paraula in Santa Coloma de Farners.

Guillem Viladot (Agramunt 1922 – Barcelona 1999) was not only a prolific writer but also a multifaceted creator who celebrated and excelled in multiple artistic languages such as poetic, literary, experimental, journalistic or plastic .

It should be remembered that 2022 was the Guillem Viladot Year, and as part of the centenary of his birth, Casa de la Paraula hosts the Viladot Landscape exhibition around the most artistic production of the poet from Riella. A plastic work which, according to the author himself, never ceased to be a poetic production. In other words, poems that in many cases gained volume thanks to the objects they contained. From this perspective, and while reviewing his career, we find four ways in which Viladot has represented or included the riverside landscape within his most plastic productions, which are: Elements of the landscape, Shapes and colors, Domestic landscape and Tools of the Field

According to the words of Josep Bertran Mitjavila "as we can see in this exhibition, Viladot never ceases to incorporate the world around him, his world, into his work. He does this by bringing the agricultural, natural or domestic landscape to the center his poetic production. Thanks to him, our environment/world leaves its everydayness behind to achieve a poetic level that helps us to understand it, to look at it and to love it, creating a Viladot Landscape".

This exhibition is part of the tenth edition of the Domini Màgic Poetry Festival held in the municipality.

X Domini Mágic Poetry Festival

From March 11 to 19, the X edition of the Domini Màgic Poetry Festival will be held in Santa Coloma de Farners specifically in the following spaces: Casa de la Paraula, Arxiu Comarcal de la Selva, Parc de Sant Salvador, in the Municipal Auditorium and on the esplanade of the Farners hermitage. Several activities have been scheduled for this edition of the Festival, such as a tribute to Antoni Clapés, the opening of the "Paisatge Viladot" exhibition, a recital of prose and translations by Joan Vinyoli with Cinta Massip, the official opening of the festival with singers de Farners, a round-table recital entitled "My Joan Vinyoli" with Josep Maria Fulquet, Anna Pantinat and Misael Alerm, moderated by Raquel Santanera, a concert by Mar Pujol, a poetic Joan Vinyoli itinerary, a guided tour of the Espai Vinyoli by Pep Solà, a three-voice poetry recital with Teresa Colom, Laia Carbonell and Raquel Pena, a concert by Joan Colomo and excursions to places in Vinyoli and a climb to the Turó del vent to attend the recital "I la natura he calls me" with Maria Sevilla.
