The Girona City Council will allocate 285,000 euros to the call for grants for creation, production and artistic exhibition this 2023. Specifically, 175,000 euros will be allocated to the Girona Crea Grants and 110,000 euros to Amplia Cultura grants, done which represents an increase of 40,000 euros in relation to 2022. The deadline for submitting applications is now open and there is time to register until March 22.

"We are making a clear commitment to these grants and to culture, since we are increasing their support. At the same time, it must be said that this call for grants is an opportunity to promote artistic creation in the city of Girona, and it is also a good opportunity to further promote Girona's cultural centers such as La Marfà and el Bòlit or projects such as the Girona Film Office. We are with the creators to promote culture in all areas and for everyone, because the Girona of the future must to be 100% cultural", says the vice-mayor and Councilor for Culture of Girona City Council, Quim Ayats.

On the one hand, the Girona Crea Grants, formerly called Kreas, will be used for grants for training and artistic creation, and also for subsidies for the production of artistic projects. On the other hand, the Amplia Cultura grants are intended for carrying out cultural activities complementary to the municipal offer or cultural activities with an inclusive purpose and social action.

In the 2022 call, a total of 56 grants were awarded, distributed among 35 grants and subsidies from the line of Girona Kreas Grants for the development of artistic projects in all areas of creation. With regard to the Amplia Cultura subsidy line, 21 cultural activities promoted by Girona's cultural entities and companies were subsidized.

These grants are also complemented by the support line for the creation of La Marfà, the grants for the exchange of creative residencies within the Bòlit Residència Girona Creativa, the support program for audiovisual and cinematographic projects of the Girona Film Office and subsidies to festivals of cultural interest in the city of Girona.

People interested in this call can attend the information session that will take place next Tuesday, March 7, at 7 p.m., at El Modern or address their inquiries to the Arts Promotion Office ( ofa @ajgirona.cat ).
