Fifteen Catalan galleries participate in ARCOmadrid 2023

A total of fifteen Catalan galleries will participate in the new edition of ARCOmadrid 2023, which will be held from February 22 to 26 in pavilions 7 and 9 of the IFEMA Exhibition Center in Madrid. Three other galleries based in Barcelona will also be added, as well as contemporary Catalan art professionals with interventions in the Forum and Professional Meetings, as well as institutions and private companies, among others.

The Catalan galleries participating in this edition of ARCOmadrid specifically in the general program are: ADN Gallery, Ana Mas Projects, Àngels Barcelona, Bombon Projects, Galeria Alegría, Joan Prats, Marc Domènech, Mayoral, Miguel Marcos, Nogueras Blanchard, Polígrafa obra Gràfica, ProjecteSD, Rocio Santacruz and the Senda gallery. The presence of the galleries House of Chappaz, L21 and the Marlborough gallery should also be highlighted. To these is also added the Chiquita Room gallery, which incorporates as a novelty in the Opening by Allianz program, a section that brings together different galleries with a career of up to seven years with the aim of bringing new artists and scenes to the fair

Eighth edition of Arts Libris Madrid

For its part, Arts Libris will participate for the eighth edition in ARCOmadrid with the main objective of spreading the word about the contemporary publishing of artists' books. On this occasion it will present a total of 67 national and international exhibitors, in addition to an extensive cultural program, in the Arts Libris Speaker's Corner space, starring the participating artists and editors. It has been calculated that a total of 21 stands will come from Catalonia and they are: Al-Tiba9 Contemporary Art, Carlos Pamies, Chamo San, Contrafotografia, Ediciones Galeria Miguel Marcos, EINA Edit, Fabra i Coats: Contemporary Art Center, Fundació Vila Casas, La Canc, La Capella, La Maleta de Portbou, La Virreina Center de La Imatge, Macba, Mia Martí, Ojos de Buey, Raiña Lupa, Restory, Rare Books for Rare, Rociosantacruz, Sala Gaspar, Series AL, Tinta Invisible and Xavier Manrique.

As for the cultural spaces, ARCOmadrid will welcome the participation of Artika, Enciclopedia Art and the Joan Miró Foundation. With regard to the debate section, there will be the presence of prestigious Catalan professionals or residents of Catalonia, such as Elvira Dyangani Ose, director of the MACBA; Imma Prieto, director of Es Baluard; Glòria Moure, curator, Mariana Canepa & Max Andrews, Latitudes, curators, Simona Malatesca, member of the Unidentified Video Observatory - Desorg Punto Org, and Pedro G. Romero, artist and curator, among others. As a novelty for this edition, Arco will host the exhibition entitled Art Situations III, in which the work of five emerging Spanish artists such as Elena Aitzkoa, Nora Aurrekoetxea, Lucía Bayón, Aleix Plademunt and Pablo Capitán del Río, as well as five French people who are Salome Chatriot, Marie-Luce Nadal, Benoit Piéron, Elsa Brès and Yoan Sori.

This exhibition is joined by Catalan entities that will support the issue of the purchase of works through prizes, such as the Arco/Beep Prize for Electronic Art, which in this edition aims to promote the production and exhibition of related art to new technologies or electronic art. On the other hand, the Setanta studio in Barcelona has won the competition for the design of the new ARCO catalog and, on the other hand, for the second consecutive year, Allianz Seguros consolidates its relationship with the world of art by sponsoring Opening by Allianz, with the aim of promoting emerging talent and entrepreneurship. It also organizes an exhibition with a selection of the best works from the international project entitled Art on Climate. As a novelty, it brings together the worlds of fashion and art through the firm Reparto, created by Margil Peña and Ana Viglione, which has won the third edition of the Allianz Ego Confidence in Fashion award at MBFWMadrid, responsible for the design of the fair's staff uniform.
