"Landscapes of memory" by Vicenç Huedo at the Valvi Foundation

The Valvi Foundation opens on January 17 at 7 p.m. Landscapes of memory by Vicenç Huedo, presented by Enric Tubert. The exhibition includes a collection of recent work by this artist established in Girona city since 1975.

"In the exhibition Landscapes of Memory the visitor will find a proposal in which the exercise of remembering is, openly, an exercise of creation. Secluded in his study, Huedo has traveled through a strange time while evoking visited landscapes, or no. It has been left hard by the certainty that each line 1993 drawn reshapes the figure on paper and, at the same time, redraws the image in his mind. Each line drawn redraws the model. The result is an extraordinary set of landscapes evoked and/or created from memory. These are images in which the presence of large white spaces stands out. These are quick, instinctive notes, mostly made with charcoal. These are pieces that have a musical, rhythmic air, authentic symphonies of strokes and spots", writes Enric Tubert in the catalog text.
