L'Escala hosts, from December 8 to 10, the first edition of the Mostra d'Art Contemporani, les Muses, a new proposal that invites artists to meet and share their work and make their work known by showing the corners, workshops and exhibition rooms that are the spaces where the inspirations, muses and narratives of the artists who participate arise.
The Mostra is designed as an "Artistic Route" that on the one hand opens to the public the spaces usually closed for creation, such as the studios and workshops of the artists and on the other hand offers artists who do not have a space that can be visited a following centers where you can show your work: exhibition halls, art galleries, museums, shop windows. But it is also complemented by a wide program of activities aimed at all audiences that wants to flood the streets of l'Escala with artistic proposals.
The exhibition is designed as an artistic itinerary that opens to the public spaces that are usually closed, such as artists' studios and workshops, but also offers artists other public and private spaces where they can show their work, such as museums and halls of municipal exhibitions or local businesses. In this sense, the councilor for Cultural Promotion and Action, Rafel López, thanks "the involvement of all the areas necessary to carry out an initiative of this type, both from a public and private point of view, and especially the involvement, collaboration and good willingness of the artists and the participating groups".
The itinerary of the Mostra d'Art Contemporani de l'Escala passes through a total of 25 points, among which are the workshops of different artists and the municipal exhibition spaces (Alfolí de la Sal, Museu de l'Anxova and la Sal, Castell Carolingi), but also the Port 25 Art Gallery, the CER, the Vitel·la bookshop, the Cafè del Mar, Can Mallarenga, the Mola Mercat space, the Espai Materia l'Escala or Norai Espai Creative, in addition to the windows of different establishments of the Union of Shopkeepers and Tourist Entrepreneurs of l'Escala.
