The exhibition Studies in Pussy'ism is the third solo show of the Icelandic artist Kristinn Nicolai at the Miguel Marcos gallery, which can be visited until September 23. His work is characterized by the presence of a deep black that appears empty, as well as by sacrilegious and sacrificial eroticism. On the other hand, the figure of the woman allows him to represent nature in its most intimate form and is his main source of inspiration. Women with voluminous and exaggerated features that are a clear hint of female sexuality. All this takes shape in his creations, in which an excellent mastery of drawing can be seen in the backgrounds of some of his works. Nicolai veiledly proposes architectural constructions that represent urban, oppressive and confined spaces, which allow the human figure, especially the man, to be embodied in an unnatural and disproportionate size in order to create suggestive and uncomfortable environments, attractive and repulsive at the same time.
