bonart saint margaret and the monks - 14/09/22

From September 15 Palma Dotze Galeria opens its autumn season with Pere Noguera's temporary exhibition entitled Archive-Classified Elements , which can be visited until November 27, 2022 and which presents a collection of works that embrace more of 50 years of experience presented by Carles Guerra. The gallery will participate with Noguera's work in the Barcelona Gallery Weekend, which is organized by Art Barcelona, Association of Galleries, and which this year will be held from September 15 to 18. The gallery will also have an exhibition stand at the Swab Barcelona Art Fair, Barcelona's Contemporary Art Fair, which will take place from September 6 to 9 in the Mies van der Rohe pavilion and where it will simultaneously present the work in video and photography of Eva Miquel (Barcelona, 1970); Mariona Moncunill, doctor and graduate in fine arts, artist and researcher, and Ignacio Uriarte (Krefeld, Germany, 1972), who will present a sample of his works on canvas, paper and other formats. It should be remembered that since 1989 the gallery has based its programming on the promotion of contemporary art, through the alternation of exhibitions of young artists with the exhibition of recent works by great exponents of Catalan art, Spanish and international from the second avant-garde to the present day. Currently, Palma Dotze Galeria is collaborating with institutions and companies in the Penedès area to carry out artistic initiatives of a public nature, and a program of activities through which it is linked to the cultural and festive events of the region.

Arxiu-Elements classificats , by Pere Noguera (La Bisbal d'Empordà, 1941), offers us the opportunity to approach once again the inexhaustible work of this artist who has treated the archive with an approach and artistic goal. Trained at the Escola Massana in Barcelona alongside the sculptor Eudald Serra, Pere Noguera has produced a body of work in which he has carried out a contemporary review of materials such as earthenware and industrial ceramics. In the seventies, Noguera was initiated into the new poor, ephemeral and conceptual poetics related to poor art . Since then, matter as a process, the domestic object and the immediate landscape are part of his centers of interest. Known for his mudslides - between 1979 and 1982 he covered objects on the floor with liquid mud that revealed matter as an event -, he was a pioneer in incorporating his works in photocopies and spreading the idea of a ready-made archive based on found photographs and films. Noguera himself explains about his work: "It is the result of a reflection on the existential dimension of everyday life and of a process that directly relates art and life. It is not an interpretation but a new reality that manifests itself in language, in real time and in a specific place. I am interested in the action revealing unusual readings and aspects that are not very perceptible or illogical, which can be related to the nature of man, which do not occur in other languages."
