5th edition of the Art & Gavarres International Festival

From September 3 to November 30, the fifth edition of the Art & Gavarres international festival looks again at art and nature to publicize this protected natural space and put it in value. In this edition the paths take on importance. The towns participating in this year's Art & Gavarres were joined by historic roads such as the old Empúries road on the Empordà side, a secondary branch of the Via Augusta that went from Gerunda to Emporion, or the old road from Girona to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, on the slopes of the Gironès.

These are roads that have been left out of the main traffic because new infrastructures have been built in parallel, wider and straighter, but of which there are still sections that we can recognize or that maintain, even if only secondarily, their use .

The inauguration of the festival will take place on September 4 in Can Llambí (Llagostera) and will have the participation of Sergi Miquel and Ivan Forcadell, who will give an intervention in Can Llambí and Manel Bayo, who will give an intervention at the monumental cork of the Can Llambí estate also, 300 m from the house.

Art & Gavarres is a festival that starts from the idea that art can be a tool that helps us reflect and change our view of the landscape. We link art and nature to publicize this protected natural space and make it more valuable. Participating artists create works in situ with natural materials for a week.
