LIFE beyond the pandemic

The VIDA 2022 festival will resume its luxury line-up on Thursday 30 June with bands and groups of independent musicians, filling the whole area around the Masia d'en Cabanyes in Vilanova i la Geltrú with rhythm. The Australian Plots, which were announced last year but were unable to perform due to restrictions due to COVID -19, will perform on the first day of a festival, VIDA, which has become a paradigm of sustainable and loving growth.

With the obligatory parenthesis of 2020 and the resumption of the last year 2021, a LIFE marked by the very long queues to enter the industrial building where the massive antigen tests were carried out on the attendees. It was a test field that had ambivalent results.

The VIDA Festival is characterized by its decidedly contemporary commitment to a natural setting presided over by the Masia d'en Cabanyes, a palace in the middle of the vineyards that refers directly to the Italian villas designed by Andrea Palladio. The Masia d'en Cabanyes hosts all year round the CIRMAC (Center for the Interpretation of Romanticism) with a museum discourse that covers romanticism with the pioneering figure of the poet Manuel de Cabanyes (1808-1833) and reaches the modernism of the hand of the painter Alexandre de Cabanyes (1877-1972).

One of the real touches of VIDA is the space dedicated to children where they can develop their creativity with art workshops and where the sea of joy comes out and with a cardboard guitar or a saxophone on their shoulders. Another classic of this VIDA FESTIVAL is the grove and the artistic installations that decorate the natural space. In the middle of the VIDA grove we inevitably find the barqueta, (the boat), a stage on which both emerging and consecrated artists sing in a prit. Also La cova, where there is an aesthetic and more trash music.

The large esplanade, with two main stages (Masia X Levi's and Estrella Damm), always shines full and with waves of people, with the epicenter of the straw bales topped by a reference sculpture, a seahorse or some other curious element. which every year demands the attention of hipsters and families who take the opportunity to enjoy the best music in a bucolic setting and not at all crowded compared to other similar events.

VIDA has managed to attract not only fans and fans of indie groups, it has also fallen in love with artists and musical groups who feel a preference for the Masia d'en Cabanyes where they can rest on the BackStages and the area reserved for the Very Important. called Wild Side.

This is not a Festival , this year's motto. A phrase that refers to the song "This is not a love song" by Public Image Limited (PIL) a post-punk hit of 1983. That's why the Festival has a team of designers who work on the image every year graphic that is embodied in t-shirts, ToTe Bags and other merchandising gadgets. There is also a strong focus on sustainability with recyclable glasses and the gastronomic offer of food rolls (Food Tracs). In addition, the sponsors organize small shops and promotional spaces that delight young and old. Levi's, Estrella Damm, Eastmant, Coca-Cola, Jagermaister. La Daurada is a space practically in the sea where on Sunday the festival action moves with a closing between 11 and four in the afternoon, time to make a vermouth by the beach and enjoy the new attraction of Vilanova i la Geltrú, the "Whale Tail" fountain with water fountains in the Trajo de Garbi square, a very Mediterranean soak to refresh the mind.
