ARCOlisboa 2022 celebrates its fifth anniversary

From 19 to 22 May, ARCOlisboa 2022 will take place, a fair that will once again make the Portuguese capital a meeting place for collectors, gallery owners, artists and professionals from all over the world. A time when the Portuguese art scene will be presented in depth in a broad dialogue with Spanish and European art, as well as a careful selection of African artists. In its fifth face-to-face edition, the Cordoaria Nacional will host the artistic contents of more than 70 galleries selected by the Organizing Committee and the curatorial teams of the different sections.

On the fifth anniversary, ARCOlisboa is evolving in the contents of the stands towards a fair that will allow the galleries to develop very defined projects and deepen the exchanges between artists. On the other hand, it is concentrated in 4 days in order to reinforce the visibility of the exhibition program of the city's museums and institutions.

The main axis of the Fair, the General Program, will be formed by national and international galleries whose artistic proposals will ratify his bet by the quality of the contents. In addition, ARCOlisboa will promote the two main curatorial sections: Africa in Focus, will consist of 8 galleries from the African continent and selected by Paula Nascimento; and Opening Lisboa, focused on young galleries, with the aim of bringing new content and research to the fair.

Arts Libris, the space dedicated to publishing contemporary art publications will return to ARCOlisboa and will be the center of a new space dedicated to art publications. ARCOlisboa is evolving in the contents of the stands towards a more curatorial fair, in which the galleries will propose very defined projects with a smaller number of artists in each stand. On the other hand, the fair is concentrated in 4 days in order to reinforce the visibility of the exhibition program of the city's museums and institutions.
