On May 12 at 7.30 pm, the Casal Solleric opens the exhibition I am still alive by Raquel Friera, winner of the City of Palma Antoni Gelabert Prize for Visual Arts 2019, on the mezzanine floor of the Casal Solleric. The exhibition can be visited until July 31, 2022.

The I am still alive project revives the history of art by collectively rewriting the history of women's vulnerability. Historically, the conceptual of On Kawara moves towards the experiential, the individual of his work towards the collective, rewriting my life from the women I wanted, placing affections as the center of artistic practice. of any and, at the same time, summoning the singular and shared vulnerability of each and every one of the women.

As Patricia Mayayo explains, "I am still alive , 2022, is a reinterpretation of the legendary performance of the same name by Japanese conceptual artist On Kawara. Like other artists of her generation, On Kawara aspired to an emotional depersonalization of Friera's version consists of 24 postcards with the phrase "I'm still alive" (in several languages) sent to him by his friends, women with whom he has a bond important ones, but with which he has lost contact with everyday life for a variety of reasons. other personal messages) are accompanied by 24 pieces (photographs, installations, objects…) designed specifically by Friera for each of these women.The work is completed with a vinyl in which the artist reproduces a letter to posthumously writing On Kawara, thus weaving an intellectual and affective bond with the artist who defies the limitations of time and space.
