Call for the third edition of the JAI Institute of Artistic Practices

The Tabakalera International Center for Contemporary Culture, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country, Artium Museoa and the Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation have opened the call to participate in the third edition of the Institute of Artistic Practices JAI (Artistic Art Institute) . An art school for artists that will open its doors in the summer and where artistic practice will be the core of the program, which will promote research, production, perception and critical work.

The teaching staff will be made up of artists who participate in the respective programs of the three entities. Rosalind Nashashibi, Geòrgia Sagri, Lea Porsager, David Bestué, Ainara Elgoibar, Alexandre Cesarco, Ibon Aranberri, Jon Mikel Euba, Asier Mendizabal, Itziar Okariz, Mattin, Pierre Bal-Blanc, Isabel Herguera and Txaro Arrazola will take part in 2022. Tutoring will be given by Ibon Aranberri, Asier Mendizabal and Itziar Okariz. In this third edition, the Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation joins the initiative. The center is a monographic space that houses the artist's personal collection, and is located in the Navarrese town of Alzuza, 9km from Pamplona. This new collaboration offers JAI the opportunity to open up to new landscapes, expanding the sensitive possibilities of the artistic experience. It also reinforces the foundations of the program's experimental pedagogical project.

The training sessions will take place at the Tabakalera Artists' Space Workshop, from June 1 to August 31. In addition to access to this common area, each participant will also have a study during the training period and will have individualized tutoring by the tutors of the program. During the month of August, participants will spend a few days in the town of Alzuza where the Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation is located. Artium Museoa will also host some of the activities that make up the program.

The call is aimed at artists or agents in the sector interested in delving into the methodologies of art. The registration period will be open from March 17 to April 14, 2022. To participate, applicants must register using a form found on the Tabakalera (tabakalera. eus), Artium Museoa (artium. es) and Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation (museooteiza.org) and attach your curriculum vitae along with your biography, a letter of motivation and a digital dossier with images of your previous work.
