This year, as a novelty and with the support of Acció Cultural Española, the VIA ON project is being carried out, with the aim of creating bridges between emerging Spanish art and Latin America. A curatorial project that will go through the studies and galleries of emerging art, to get to know in depth the current scene of our country and to strengthen future professional ties.
Four Latin American curators Gisselle Girón, Valentina Gutiérrez, Natalia Albanese and Sandra Dinnendahl will get to know Spanish art closely with Spanish curators such as Javier Díaz Guardiola, Raquel G. Ibáñez, Adonay Bermúdez and Carlos Delgado Mayordomo. A whole emphasis on the importance of internationalization, which takes the form of a meeting in collaboration with Casa de América under the name of Derivas, misguidance and arrival in tandem.
A conversation where the four curators will present their impressions of emerging Spanish art, which will take place on February 25 at 11 am in the Miguel de Cervantes room, and which will be the starting point for JUSTMAD.
The commitment to internationalization is completed by a significant representation of galleries from countries such as Germany, Austria, Portugal, Venezuela, Colombia, France, Peru and the United States, which will join the Spanish.
Sustainability and the commitment to the rural world will be important axes in the Fair. Therefore, this year and continuing to support the creation, JUSTMAD has developed the artistic residence RAS DE TERRA where 4 artists have carried out a joint project on the concept of Rural Spain in the area of La Vera (Extremadura). Ras de Terra is part of the New European Bauhaus, a green pact promoted by the European Commission, which opens up new design opportunities. The joint piece resulting from the work of the four artists will be exhibited at JUSTMAD 2022.
