The Naud Gaudí hosts, from February 2nd to July 3rd, an exhibition entitled Bassat Collection, 21st Century. The painting of the memory will exhibit works by Enric Ansesa, Pep Carrió, Xaro Castillo, Rosa Codina-Esteve, Ramon Enrich, Marc Prat Codina and Jaume Ribas.
Curated by Albert Mercadé, the exhibition includes works from the collection of the Bassat Collection and artists who have a long career behind them and who, as Mercadé explains: "Despite a pictorially adverse context, they have not stopped interpellating. In all of them there is a deep and reminiscent pictorial gaze: in time, in the admired painters, in the vital memory, and also inwards, in the foundations of sensitivity, in landscapes and foundational objects of personality ".
In the words of Lluís Bassat: "This is the first exhibition in the Nau Gaudí of works from our collection made during the 21st century. For the first time we have not grouped the works by decades, but by artists, who present the We believe that in this way his art is better understood and the artist can be better appreciated, followed by other exhibitions that we already have planned and that will give us an overview of the art of 21st century that we love so much. "
Bassat Collection, 21st century. The painting of memory looks back at the meditative and reflective role of memory on human existence stand out as the artistic dimensions most loved by painters today. Memory — historical memory, personal memory — appears as a springboard for the artist: an immense pool for diving into the deepest subterfuges of human psychology. This attitude is very evident in the artists chosen by the Bassat Collection to represent the painting of our time, of the 21st century.
