ROUND TABLE ON THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN CATALAN ART

Catalonia La Pedrera Foundation

On February 29, Bonart Cultural presented the 198th issue of the bonart magazine at the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera with a panel discussion on the theme of the monograph: "The silenced history. Feminine art to make the silences speak". The round table, moderated by Beatriz García, editor-in-chief of bonart magazine, included the intervention of Montse Badia, co-founder and director of A* Desk; Stella Rahola Matutes, artist and Marta Lacambra, general director of the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. The talk addressed the role of women in art in recent decades from the point of view of criticism, management and artistic creation. Precarity, lack of representation and the effort to expand gender and gender representation in the sector were key aspects on which the talk turned. The event was attended by an important group of collaborators from bonart magazine, gallerists and other professionals in the sector such as Conxita Oliver, Ramon Casalé, Jesús Martínez Clarà, Aina Mercader, Beatriz Niño, Natàlia Chocarro, Benito Padilla or Lidia Penelo, others.
